This week, we will be working on description.  As we discussed in class, you will be using two opposing points of view to describe the same scene.  What are some steps that you can take in the prewriting process to make sure that each viewpoint, both positive and negative, is followed?  Which viewpoint do you think will be easier?  Why do you think so?

Narratives can be tricky.  We all like to tell stories, but a narrative also has to make a point.  The narrator needs to experience some sort of change brought about by the event described.  How will you decide what life event you want to write about?  Are there any experiences that lend themselves well to narrative?  How can you TEST your narrative to make sure that you have made a solid point?
